hannahpad Australia and New Zealand 3 Year Anniversary
On the 11th of November three years ago, hannahpad Australia and New Zealand was born! The business has grown tremendously, we have faced many struggles and learnt a lot of lessons but it's the growing number of happy customers (you) that make it all worthwhile. So let's recap our third year of running this wonderful small business and all the achievements we have made along the way.
EXPANDING AS A BUSINESS
This year marked the expansion of hannahpad into Western Australia. We have distributed to 78 retail stores to date in WA alone, and nationwide we have continued to grow with a total of almost 200 retailers!
In June we hired a content creator, Katie. She plans and photographs posts for our social media, writes blog posts (like this one) and assists our operations manager with various tasks around the office.

Another exciting achievement this year is that hannahpad was listed in the archives in the Museum of Arts & Sciences as a 21st century cloth pad that is part of menstruation history! You can visit the page here.
So proud that hannahpads sit in an archive that can be loaned to other museums showcasing the changes in menstrual health and products.
TRIPS OUT OF THE OFFICE
We attended seven expos this year all across Australia, these were Eastern Pregnancy & Baby, MummyCon, Pregnancy Babies & Children, Big Vegan Market, Eco Expo, World Vegan Day and Vegan Festival.

In October we had a visit from the team at hannahpad headquarters in Korea including Mr Jang the founder of hannahpad Korea.
Also in October we held our own event. First ever! Our hannahpad gathering at The Botanical Storein Northcote, Victoria. A very beautiful and inviting space that fitted us perfectly and we were lucky that owner Kim allowed us to hold this event. Thanks Kim! It was a great success and all the tickets sold out! Everyone had an amazing time—there were food, drinks, goodie bags and we all had a lovely #periodtalk which included an interview with Mr Jang himself! It was an incredible night and we can't wait to hold more events in the future and meet our lovely hannahpad users.
CAMPAIGNS & PARTNERSHIPS
In May, hannahpad took part in the Axe the Tax campaign to petition for the removal of the tampon tax and to push for it to include reusable menstrual products. The campaign was successful and the removal of the tax will take effect at the beginning of 2019. Thanks to your support on this campaign were we able to make a change for the future of all menstruating humans in Australia. You can read the blog post here.
This year we partnered with School's a Gift, an Australian not-for-profit organisation, to supply hannahpads to girls in Ethiopia. School's a Gift helps children living in poverty attend child-friendly community-supported schools in an underserved region of Ethiopia. Many girls miss school due to menstruation and no access to menstrual hygiene products, so by providing our pads to these girls they are able to get the most out of their education.

NEW PRODUCTS & ECO-PACKAGING
This year we started using new Vincotte certified Ok Biobased 100% compostable and biodegradable satchel bags made from natural corn starch that begin to breakdown in 12 months, these are used for orders up to 500g. As well as new Bio-Fill biodegradable and compostable packaging peanuts made from natural corn starch (static, odour and dust-free).
2018 was an incredible year for hannahpad and we can't wait to see what's in store for 2019!
